Many people want to be leaders, but they go about it in all of the wrong ways. Some people think that it's a title that means they're in charge and that everyone needs to listen to them and do as they say.

Leadership is nothing like that at all. Instead, it's about working to earn people's trust, so they feel inspired to follow up, and in turn, you become influential - this is the art of Influence & Leadership.

If you want to learn how to lead with influence, it's going to take a lot more than telling people what to do, even if you have a fancy title.

It's not about telling people what to do and dictating what needs to be done.

Leaders help people to think for themselves and set people up for success.

A lack of leadership can manifest in underperformance.

This is when you've got to fix the leadership.

And rather than telling people what they need to do, and how do you.

Think about how you show them what they need to do and how to do it.

Most importantly, and that's absolutely you stepping in and taking ownership for leading the way.

Influence is powerful, and it creates influential leaders, leaders that have earned the trust of people, and there's a willingness in people to follow you, not because they have to, or because you told them to, but they want to because something about you inspires them. So that's the subtle art of INFLUENCE & LEADERSHIP.

In the traditional sense, leadership usually involves power and delegation over others; this is not the effective approach in today's workplaces, yet it's still most commonly practised. If we consider the other end of the spectrum, we see leaders who are serving others and setting them up for success; this promotes equality and empowerment, considering the needs of others to help people to develop, to support their critical thinking and perform. This leader style is self-aware and has high levels of emotional intelligence, common skills shared by influential leaders.
